Ash Wednesday 2025

As we start the season of Lent, we have two activities to prepare your hearts and minds for the season: Shrove Tuesday and our Ash Wednesday service.

We invited all interested people, including you! If you have never visited St John the Divine, this could be an excellent way for you to get to know us and experience us.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper – Free Pancakes! 🥞

Shrove Tuesday is the traditional feast before Lent, and what better way to celebrate than with delicious pancakes? This event is open to everyone—church members and friends alike. Enjoy some regular or gluten-free pancakes and great company!

Join us on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, for the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper in Healy Hall from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm or until we run out of pancakes, whichever comes first.

Want to help? We’re looking for volunteers to assist with prep, cooking, serving, and clean-up. If you’d like to join the team, let us know!

Ash Wednesday

Join us on March 5, 2025, for one of our two services of the imposition of ashes. We welcome all interested people, even if you are not a member.

  • A contemplative service without music
• 6:00 pm
  • This service will have music and some singing.
  • You can join us in person or watch the live stream.

We are looking for someone to help server/acolyte and for readers for both services.
