The time is nearing for vestry elections.  Do you sense you might be called to this ministry of leadership?  If so, please speak with our warden, Sandi McCann, 514-3965.  We are in need of a Senior and Junior Warden as well as two vestry members.   NOW is the time to begin discerning if this leadership role is your call at this time in your life.  While we attend to the business of the church we also spend time with scripture, focusing on the upcoming Sunday Gospel, and sharing our faith stories in both light and more serious story telling.  While we attempt to match people to specific ministries to oversee, there is great flexibility to work with individual interests and passions.  You need not be a long-term worshiper at St. John the Divine.  We encourage youth of the church 16 or older to be on vestry filling special 1-year terms with all rights of voice and vote. Vestry meets the 3rd Tuesday, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  Responsibilities include:

• ideally, either leading or being the vestry liaison to a specific ministry area which you would be elected to (there may be more than one vestry member for a specific ministry area); 
• attending a vestry retreat each year; attending monthly vestry meetings;
• being intentional in prayer especially for St. John; 
• pledging with a commitment to growing into tithing in the near or very distant future; 
• participating in at least one formation event each year (long or short); 
• and, on occasion, worshipping at the service you normally don’t attend.
