Opportunities for Youth
We offer Journey to Adulthood for our youth, a program for youth beginning at age 11. This group meets at 10 a.m. on Sundays.
Trinity Youth Group Our Trinity Youth Group is made up of youth (age 11 through high school) from three local churches. They meet the first and third Sundays of each month, 6 - 7 :30 p.m. The first Sunday of the month is a more serious conversation. Currently the youth are exploring healthy and unhealthy relationships. The third Sunday of the month is for a more fun experience such a sledding or miniature golfing. We alternate our location so call the church for further details, 763-7482. There is also a gathering for parents at the same time. They select the topic they want to explore such as internet safety. Further information about May and June events.
Serving in Worship There are a number of ways in which youth can be involved in worship ministries including reader, server, and crucifer (the one who carries the cross in procession). Speak with Deacon Nancy for further information and possible training.
Outreach Opportunities The children and youth of the parish normally participate or lead several outreach projects a year. They take responsibility for our monthly dinner at Love, Inc. once or twice a year. They also will raise money or specific items for various organizations in need. In the recent past they have organized a Heifer Project drive to raise money to purchase animals and crops to help people in poverty around the world become self-sufficient and they have collected school supplies for children in Iraq.
CAMP
Camp Webb our diocesan camp has shut down. To learn more about that decision you can go to their website, Camp Webb
Diocese of Chicago camp. That does not mean there is no longer an opportunity for an Episcopal Church Camp. The Episcopal Diocese of Chicago offers an extensive camp about 1 hour from Burlington. For further information go to the Diocese of Chicago camp page. There is some scholarship money available based upon need.
