We are a handicapped accessible Church

To find the handicapped entrance, you will need to enter the parking lot at the back of the church and the Hall (enter either off Chandler or Edward).  There are handicapped parking sites there.  On the right end of the Hall take the walkway and just as you get beside the Hall there is an entrance door on the left.  That opens to a ramp and at the bottom go to your left and you will see the elevator that goes up to the main level. 

 Offices and the Divine Child Children's Center are on the lower level next to the elevator.

Directions to St. John the Divine
We have included two maps to help you find us.  One is an overview map and the other a close-in map. Please note that if you use an internet map program it will likely show the church located incorrectly on Chandler Blvd.  They place the church in the first block, between Pine St and Perkins Blvd.  We are really located between Perkins Blvd. and Edward St.  Our attempts over the years to get these sites to correct our location have failed. 

From in town:
We are located on the triangle of Chandler Blvd, Perkins Blvd. and Edward St.   Chandler Blvd begins near the Sentry and M&I Bank on Pine St. We are one block west of Pine on Chandler. You can access the parking lot via Chandler. Go past roundabout at Perkins and the driveway is between the first and second home. There is a small sign. You can also enter the parking lot via Edward St.

From the North/East on Hwy 36:
Go left on Hwy W (a stop light) which is just before entering Burlington.  There is a motel (American Inn) on the right just before the intersection. Go to Hwy 11 (Stop sign).
Then follow the directions for Hwy 11 below.

From the East on Hwy 11
Take Hwy 11 into Burlington. You will come to a stop light, continue straight across the bridge. There will be stop light immediately at the end of the bridge. Continue straight to the next light (Pine St). There is a Sentry Food Market on the left. At the light go left on Pine to the first right turn (Chandler Blvd). Make a hard right onto Chandler.  Go to the roundabout (Perkins Blvd) and go right. The church is on the left. There is handicap parking in the parking lot which can be accessed from either Chandler or Edward St.

From the East on 142:
Take 142 to the first stop light in Burlington (Hwy 11). Go left and follow directions above.

From the South/West on Hwy 36:
Come into Burlington to State St. There is not a stop sign or light at the intersection however, Hwy 36 bends slightly to the left at that intersection. You can see the steeple of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Bear right on State St. Go through two stop signs and go right on Perkins Blvd which is the first right following the second stop sign. The church is straight ahead. For parking, bear right. The lot is at the back of the church hall.

From the West on Hwy 11:
As you enter Burlington from the west, Hwy 11 will bend to the left.   After the bend you will come to a stop light. Continue straight through several stop lights.  You will pass the post office on the left.  At the next stop light there will be a Sentry shopping strip on your left.  Continue straight.  At the next right (by M&I Bank) you will make a very hard right turn onto Chandler Blvd.   Go to the roundabout (Perkins Blvd) and go right. The church is on the left. There is handicap parking in the parking lot which can be accessed from either Chandler or Edward St.

From the South on Hwy 83: For Spring/Summer/Fall 2008 due to closing of Hwy 83 south of Burlington:    You can go north into Burlington on Hwy P which is further west of 83 on Hwy 50.  You will go into town, past Burlington Hospital on the right. At the next stop sign, by St. Mary's RC Church, turn right.  At the first stop sign continue straight to the next right which is Perkins.  Turn right and you will see the church straight ahead.  FOr the parking lot and handicap entrance/weekday entrance, bear right at church and the lot is at the back. 

From the South on Hwy 83:  Due to reopen Fall/Winter 2008
Take Hwy 83 north.  Go into Burlington, past Nestles on the left and across the railroad tracks.  At the first stoplight, Hwy 83 will go to the right however you continue straight through the stoplight.  The name becomes Pine St.  You will go past Dairy Queen (right) to the M & I Bank (right) just before Sentry Market.  Chandler Blvd is to your left.  Make a soft left onto Chandler Blvd.  Go to the roundabout (Perkins Blvd) and go right. The church is on the left. There is handicap parking in the parking lot which can be accessed from either Chandler or Edward St.
